Voting Question: Name Change after Divorce?

I just received my judgement and notice of entry of judgment for my dissolution of marriage in Ventura County, CA. Because California has a waiting period, the date the marital status ends is 11/18/2010...however, the judgment states that my former name (maiden name) has been restored. Can I go ahead and change my name back to my maiden name with the Social Security office prior to 11/18/2010? I appreciate any help I can get. Thank you.
